What does it mean when there's a security freeze on your credit report?

A security freeze occurs when someone wants to lock down the ability for anyone to gain access to their credit reports. What this also does is prevent anyone from gaining a credit card or loan in your name. Typically, it is initiated by the person themselves. How old are you? If you are under 21, maybe your parents did it?
