Best way to treat acne...?

ok so i have oxy 10% benzoyl peroxide and for the last few months ive been..twice daily... applying some... rubbing it on my face for about 1 minute, then washing it all off with water then drying my face. but my acnes not getting better and i hear it might be better to apply the BP then let it absorb for like 3 mins then just pat dry off the access and NOT rinse it off. is this true? also if so should i apply a moisturizer afterwards if i dont rinse? my moisturizer has 0.5% salicylic acid in it is that ok or do i need some w/o salicylic acid? i also have some facial wash with i think 2% salicylic acid that i never use, should i incorporate that into my routine? thank you sooo much in advance
