How do you clean a couch fully, without a steam cleaner?

U can unzip the cushions and try a corner of one and hand wash it, and let air dry to see if it is strong and holds up. if so I would take my time and hand wash. I would not put them in a washer, if old or may have some dry rot, will tear them up in the washer, the rest of couch.u can buy a can or two of upholstery cleaner and do as directions say good luck
