How long did it take/how did you train your Pomeranian or dachshund to potty outside?

I have a 14 week old Pomeranian and a 12 week dachshund, I've been crate training them and I had to alter my poms crate cause it was still big enough for her to potty in one corner and sleep in the other (smallest crate they make). I take them out when I get up, after they eat, and ever hour and a half or so. They go through a short period in the evening where they say in the crate cause I work nights my boyfriend works during the day. They are at a point where they know they aren't supposed to cause if I didn't see them do it they scurry around looking nervous, and watching me or they run off when they see me catch them. They are mainly bad about pooping in the house. My dachshund many times won't poo outside and then as soon as he comes in he poops! I clean it with oxy clean to get rid of the smell and I scold them only when I catch them. My dads great Dane took a few months to train but we at least got to where she could be out while we were gone, how long did it take you to train your pom or dachshund to where they can be left alone in the house? I've never owned small dogs so not exactly sure what to expect when it comes to their potty training, thanks!
